Stephen William Hawking (1942.1.8-2018.3.14) was born in Oxford, England, famous physicist of Cambridge University, England, one of the greatest physicists of modern times, one of the great men enjoying international reputation in the 20th century

In 1963, at the age of 21, Hawking suffered from ALS-amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease), which left him paralyzed, unable to speak, and had only three fingers on his hands to move. From 1979 to 2009, he was a professor of mathematics at Lucas, Cambridge. His main research fields were cosmology and black holes. He proved the singularity theorem and black hole area theorem of general relativity. He proposed the black hole evaporation theory and no-boundary cosmos model. An important step has been taken in the two fundamental theories of physics, the theory of relativity created by Einstein and the quantum mechanics created by Planck. He has won honors such as CH (Companion of Honour), CBE (Commander of（the order of）the British Empire), FRS (Fellow of the Royal Society), FRSA (Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts).

On April 6, 2012, in the 21st episode of the fifth season of the hit American TV series "The Big Bang Theory", Stephen Hawking guest stars as himself. In 2017, he recorded the documentary "Exploring the New Earth" for the British BBC. In November of the same year, Hawking said that technology is expected to reverse some of the harm caused by industrialization to the earth, helping to eliminate disease and poverty, but artificial intelligence needs to be controlled. He also predicted that in 2600, energy consumption will increase, and the earth may become a "fireball".

On March 14, 2018, Hawking passed away at the age of 76, triggering mourning from all walks of life around the world.
